The Bronx
The Bronx (43 square miles), the only mainland borough, lies to the north of Manhattan. Some of the most crime ridden slums in the country spread rapidly in the South Bronx and Hunt's Point areas. But many residental areas remain prosperous.T he Bronx houses no less than ten Universities, including Metro U. Here also are the New York Botanical Gardens, Yankee Stadium and (of course) the Bronx Zoo. Population 1,150,000 (the city not the zoo).
