Manhattan Uptown Dynamic Residence
This is a Dynamic Room for scenes which take place in someone's residence in this part of New York. Scenes in this room are considered closed, unless uninvited PC's have some ST approved way of spying on the occupants.

Serleena: *peeering, she leans a bit, blinking when she leans a bit to much and quickly straightens, before she falls, going onto being still... for a good ten seconds, before she keeps twirling the braid*

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *Walks into the room, and looks around a moment, smiling a quick one to Serleena. Then taking a seat, she straightens her skirt, and clears her throat.* Well, if we are to be clear about such things, then let us discuss the important things first. Yes? I am a sixth degree: Adept, and though I have had little experience in teaching, I have much experience in learning and the proper course of study. My mundane education includes a Masters in Library Sciences and a Bachelors in Philosophy, both from Seattle University. I graduated in the top two percent of my class that year, along with being recognized by the Orders council of my full admission into our society, that very same year. I speak four different languages, and continue my studies in Enochian, among other things. I have been in this city for two months now, and plan to join the Haven chantry in the very near future, and then form a cabal to deal with the mysteries of our area.

Euchimenes Agosto: *He nods* Impressive, and what do you think you can add to Serleena's education?

Serleena: *She half smiles, very quiet, looking from her to Agosto, and soo still tiwlring her braid*

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *Looks to Serleena for a moment and then back to the Doctor.* To be plain and honest, sir, I know what I can add to her education. Our world, in short is a place full things to be studied and understood, but true mastery eludes those that are unable to put what they know into practice. I suggest, that Serleena is ready to apply her knowledge and skills in this world, gaining the responsibility and experience from her activities.

Euchimenes Agosto: *looking at her very seriously* How do you propose to keep her safe?

Serleena: *moves a bit, fidgeting, but still keeping quiet*

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *Gives him a solid look back, her eyes focused, yet her brow and face relaxed.* Her safety is the same in many places, sir, as I am sure you are aware we live in difficult and dangerous times. Through guidance and teaching, one grows, and so shall she. One must scrape your knee when learning to ride a bike, what the teacher does is prevent the student from going off the cliff. Make no mistake, I do not consider this course of action lightly, and take my responsibility with all the gravity the situation lends. I would stand between her and the entire Technocratic pogrom if I thought it would keep her safe, what I foresee, and want to help protect her from though, is a danger for more subtle. Danger that comes from the shadows of chaos, that none can predict, and worse still, dangers from within. These are the true threats to our kind, and to Miss Serleena, because no amount of studying, no book will give her what she will need to overcome THESE challenges.

Serleena: *blinks, blinks, half peering at herself, then to Sun*

Euchimenes Agosto: *looking at her* the girl is only 14- one is not expected to fly before they learn to walk, I need assurances concerning your ability to protect her if I am going to let you take her into potential dangerous situations

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *She raises an eyebrow; then looks down, and back to him, adjusting her skirt at the same time* What challenge would put forth?

Serleena: ((Be right back!!))

Euchimenes Agosto: I'm not asking for a challenge- I'm asking for information- knowledge of what you can do, plans to protect her if things went badly

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *Takes a pause, looking inside herself to consider her answer.* I must assume you know what a an Adept is capable of, therefore you must understand the power that would be wielded to protect her. I must also lean on the idea of your wisdom, to have experience in the world, knowing that every situation is different. I can not look into the future and lay out plans for things that I do not yet see, and if I would not desire that either, so I am having a difficult time in answering your question. Other than to state the truth, that if it were necessary to pull the world down around her, wrap her in safety then I would do all that can be done.

Euchimenes Agosto: *nodding* The city has been quieter lately so maybe, Here is the deal. You can teach her the practical side, on the condition that you keep her safe. I will expect reports on what the 2 of you have been doing on a weekly basis- and anything more than planned practice I am to know about in advance.

Serleena: *aaaand she perks, looking up to Agosto*

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *She takes a smooth breath, her arms fold into her lap, then she looks to Serleena. After a moment she returns her eyes to the doctor.* Planned practice, is fine there will be much that is planned. What would you consider not planned practice? Would a cursory investigation into a house be practice? Would a meeting between other mages be beyond the realm a practice? I am excited at the prospect of teaching such a promising student, but let's make as much as possible clear. Am I her "practice teacher", or her "practical teacher"?

Euchimenes Agosto: Anything that involves real danger needs to be spoken of beforehand so that it can properly be decided on

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": Let's not split hairs sir, in our line of work the word "real" has so many meanings. Walking outside your door is dangerous, going to the library can be dangerous, even eating new food is dangerous. If I take her to a house that I suspect might have an interesting energy, just to teach her about investigating new places, should you know? If there is going to be a new mage in town, and I think it is a good idea for her to meet him, is that dangerous? How can you ask this of me? *Takes a look back to Serleena, smiles to her warmly, and then continues speaking.* You have a fine student there, I would enjoy helping you teach her, and here is what I am willing to do. If I deem that the situation is a danger, then I will of course inform you. We as student and teacher will never try to keep information from you, but I can not conceive of every danger before it happens. Can we agree on that?

Euchimenes Agosto: Known dangers are difrent- an energy that you have reason to suspect is a peaceful spirit for example is diffrent than one that has been droping rocks on peoples heads

Serleena: *Smiles a tiny bit again, hearing this all... ok she isn't so sure she is feeling 'safe', but sure she is feeling exited, looking form Sun to Agosto and back a few times*

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": True, and I am happy to let you know. So, we agree. And I will let Serleena explain everything, and if there is further questions we can be in contact. Is that an acceptable arrangement to you?

Euchimenes Agosto: *Nods* with one last caviat- *looking to Serleena* if your grades or other studies begin to suffer, or I find out you have been keeping anything from me it will be the end

Serleena: *Blinks, blinks, before breathing to muster the most sure* ok *she can manage*

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *Giving her a grin.* O.k. and the arrangement would allow for her to be out late, or other times that would be conducive to this aspect of her learning.

Euchimenes Agosto: as long as it was not too often and her other studies did not suffer as a result

Serleena: *She kept on quiet, watching and listening intenty* ((sorry!! sorry!! bed calls *hugz* thanks for a great scene!!))

Sun Mei Hui "Lola": *Nods her head.* Agreed.
