Hangman's Joy
Located at the corner of West 128th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in Morningside Heights in Uptown Manhattan, approximately six blocks away from Columbia University.

Hangman’s Joy is, to all unknowing eyes, a coffee shop and comic book shop, with a sort of goth fanboy mystique to it. The shop itself is decorated in a color scheme of dark reds, blue, and purples, with the walls lined in alternative press and noir-style comic books and graphic novels. Those coming here for Marvel or DC best-sellers can expect to be mocked and humiliated out the door. On one side of the place is the counter, serving espresso drinks and house blends, as well as ringing up that issue of Sin City or Johnny the Homicidal Maniac you found.

Richard Toman: Richard sees the giant snake and just screams in rage as he performs the SAME DAMN EFFECT again. One trick wonder, huh? He's pointing it right at the big giant spirit snake.

Richard Toman: d10: Arete+WP+Q: 2,8,8,

bluekit: *the snake hisses, eyes glinting...and skims forwardtoward Richard,seeking to wrap him up like a birthday present in her coils*

bluekit: d10: dex/brawl: 10,10,1,5,2,1,5,9,

Leah Simon: *her eyes narrow as fire and the sprinkler system battle around her - madness seems to stir behind her dark eyes and she wraps her other hand around the blade of the knife, squeezing so that blood runs from her fist and drips onto the floor* ((Prime 2 - hitting Richard with a prime bolt))

Leah Simon: d10: Arete+Q+WP: 5,4,

Richard Toman: Leah blasts Richard with a prime bolt (4 Agg to him) and the snake coils around him (roll damage, no extras from successes). Richard hits the snake that coils around him for 5 agg of his own, while Tai points the snake at Richard and attempts to keep herself together.

bluekit: d10: dmg: 6,4,3,1,

Richard Toman: d10: Stamina: 8,5,

Richard Toman: No additional damage. New round, same order.

Richard Toman: Err, nevermind! DLP

Richard Toman: Combat ends. Richard slumps over in Corn Snake's coils, dead from his wounds. The fire rages on, however.

Leah Simon: *takes a deep breath and puts the knife away, pulling bandages out of her bag and calmly bandaging her wound with an efficiency that denotes MUCH skill, before turning to Tai* Are you injured, my dear?

bluekit: *the snake continues to squeeze a few moments, then unhinges her jaw. she does, however, turn her head onto the others as if expecting them to make the sun-on-the-ground stop*

Taillte w/corchen: Tai shakes her head grabs a shoe bot rushes over to the remains of corchen after making the gesture to let her across. she gently puts the remains into the box. she then looks for the fire extingusher to grab it and help to help the sprinkler.

bluekit: *the snake begins to ingest the remains, head first*

Richard Toman: With a bit of fighting, the fire is under control and defeated, but the building is going to need some serious repairs before it can operate as a store again.

Leah Simon: *calls the fire department, ushering Tai with the remains of her snake outside.

Taillte w/corchen: once the fire is undercontrol she just slumps down outside clutching the box close to her and just sobs.

Leah Simon: *holds the girl, rocking her back and forth in her arms outside*

bluekit: *the snake continues to finish her meal. belly bulging, she slithers towards teh outside and Tai*

Janothar: And Richard is devoured. They can hear fire engine sirens fairly quickly.

bluekit: *she touches teh box with her blunt nose--and vanishes*

Taillte w/corchen: she sniffles leaning into Leah. her glasses all from water. she wipes them and looks to the spirit approching her.

Janothar: And fade to explanations and insurance forms (will make forum posts about this in a bit.)
